This is Dottie's Magic Stool. It is her new best friend.
(Incidentally, when I tell Dottie to "smile" when I'm taking a picture, she just jumps up and down. So instead I say, "Show your teeth!" So sometimes her smiles turn out scary, like this one.)
Dottie's stool was originally for bathroom purposes only. She uses it to reach the potty and to reach the sink.
However, being the clever girl that she is, she discovered she can use it to reach other things besides the potty and sink. She can now reach the DVDs on top of the entertainment center that we don't want her to reach.
She can also reach things on the kitchen counter. No more knives left out . . . Also, when I'm cooking, she runs in with the stool to help me out.
She also uses her stool to climb on top of the piano bench so she can make music. This stool has opened up Dottie's world to so many more possibilities.
Part II: Dottie eating
Dottie has to be the messiest eater alive. I don't even bother with bibs. When she eats, we just strip her down. These are pictures of her eating soup and grilled cheese the other day for lunch.
Part III: Elliot bathing
This is Elliot taking a bath, with his wash cloth strategically placed. Elliot absolutely LOVES baths. And since he's been sick with a cold again (I really don't know what's wrong with our family -- we just attract illness), it's one of the few things that keeps him happy. He particularly likes it when I use Johnson's Vapor Bath for Babies with Colds. It smells like menthol, but I do think it helps him feel better.

Dottie is such a clever little girl. She just wants to be big like us. She is getting tall, though. Her painted toe nails are cute, too.Elliot has hair now.He's handsome. I think we have 36 days until you come to Carrie's house.
Stools are so much fun! We have three at our house. Everyone needs one.
I love the bath tub picture of Elliot so cute! We love the Vapor bath too. Glad it is giving him some relief with his colds.
Dottie's magic stool? Is there a theme song to go along with it like "Captain's Magic Buttons?" Ha ha, I really need to get over that. Anyway, cute pics, and I'm sorry to hear Elliot is sick again! Poor thing. I have a bad cold myself so maybe I'll try that Johnsons Vapor bath stuff. . .
Cute post. Your kids are adorable. Your mom told me that you guys are coming out for the summer. We'll have to figure out how we can connect. I'd love to see you guys again. Maybe in NYC to see another show? It was so much fun. I already miss the pizza. ha ha
Gotta love Dottie! What a smartie! Liam likes to move his toilet seat around, since he only uses the normal one now. It is odd seeing it here and there, but oh well, I let it go. I am impressed to see Dottie eating soup and grilled cheese. I don't think Liam has ever eaten more than one bite of soup in his life!
