Elliot Unleashed

My dad was telling me that there aren't enough pictures of Elliot on the blog. I guess I just put more pictures of Dottie on because she does more (no offense, Elliot; you'll get there soon).
Well, here ya go, Daddy! I took a bunch of pictures of Elliot this week to show off his new developments.

Elliot is now old enough to sit in the Exersaucer. This was Dottie's best friend before she could walk. The baby can bounce in it, play with the toys, and most importantly, stay entertained while being contained. It allows me to get things done without neglecting him too much. Elliot especially enjoys spinning the wheel with the frog on it (you can't see it really in these pictures).

In this one, Elliot's making the same concentrating face with the puckered lips that Dottie would make when she was his age.

Elliot cracks me up with how he sits in his swing. Instead of laying back and relaxing, like Dottie used to do, he has to lean forward and be looking at everything. He really does have incredible neck support for his age.

This is the funniest one to me; he actually fell asleep trying to sit forward. Doesn't that look incredibly uncomfortable? I took him out because I didn't want him to hurt his little neck.
Here's the token Dottie picture. My precocious child . . . Wanna hear the horrors she created yesterday? So our bathroom is tiny, as you know. There isn't much room for storage, so we put a cabinet above the toilet. I keep the nail polish on the very top shelf . . . can you predict what happened? Somehow, she got to this shelf that I thought she couldn't possibly reach while I was nursing Elliot. She got the nail polish and attempted to do her own nails. Well, she chose a blood red color, and she came to me saying she had made a mess. I freaked out. I thought she was bleeding everywhere. I sent Joe into the bathroom to investigate, and he picked up the nail polish by the lid instead of the base and made a worse mess. He got nail polish all over his nicest suit, as well as the bathroom mat, toilet seat cover, toilet, floor, and Dottie's stool. A few drops got on the carpet as well. I will say that this wasn't as bad as the Gentian Violet fiasco. I was able to get the carpet clean. But Joe's suit . . . he took it immediately to the dry cleaner's, and they said they could probably get it out. We're keeping our fingers crossed. Never underestimate the powers of a two-almost-three-year-old.

He has the cutest expressions!!! I especially cracked up at his puckered concentration face. I wish I could just squeeze him in my arms.(not too hard of course). 24 days until you come!! That's 3 weeks and 3 days. Yipee!
Dottie is the craziest girl on earth.I love you guys.

Your little boy is getting so big! He is adorable!

Isn't it amazing the mess kids can make in the shortest amount of time? I hope the stain comes out of the suit.

Accidents involving nail polish are always tragic- I know from experience. Too bad it couldn't have happened to one of Joey's D.I. suits! (just kidding) I hope the stain comes out of the suit, and congrats for getting it out of the carpet- that's nothing short of miraculous! Elliot is darling.

Hi Charlotte and Joe! (We found you off of Jessica's blog) Seems like we miss you everytime we're in Utah - we know because Aunt Eleanor keeps us informed! Your babes are sweet and congrats on little Elliot - I love his name!

ITS ABOUT TIME I COMMENT, HUH??

So-- the fingernail polish story is priceless. A similar thing happened to us, but the end part with the polish all over the place didn't. Somehow Liam had my blood red(yes, same color) polish with him in the bathtub. Not sure how that happened. But while I was in the room and not paying attention to him (plucking my eyebrows)he managed to paint both legs, up and down and parts of his left arm. When he said "MOMMY" in a scared voice and I turned to look at him I thought he had gotten a hold of a razor!! The polish was still a mess but SO much better than blood :( These kids keep us busy! Imagine what they would do if paired together...
