For all of you PBS Masterpiece Theatre Lovers

I love British miniseries based on books. As you may know, PBS has Masterpiece Theatre on Sunday nights which produces all of my favorite literature into movie form. Well, the newest movie, "Little Dorrit," a book by Charles Dickens, started last night.

Sundays are usually too crazy for me to actually have the time to watch a movie. But, my mom informed me that you can go to PBS.org and watch this miniseries online. That is very exciting for me. I love Charles Dickens, and I love this dreamy guy in this particular movie, Matthew MacFayden. You may recognize him from the Keira Knightley "Pride and Prejudice."

Thought I'd let you know. I will definitely be watching.

The pictures to go with Dottie's Possessed

So I was going to put pictures with the last post, but I lost my camera cord. I looked in one last place today, the most logical place. My camera case. There it was, after spending yesterday ransacking my house for the silly thing.

I guess I'm just losing it since Joe's been home for spring break (one whole week!) and all we've been doing the past few days is watching 30 Rock (due to snow; we really did plan on being productive). My whole system of living has gone to pot.

By the way, I just realized I've been spelling "possessed" with too few s's. Since I'm anal about spelling, I'll fix it in the previous post. That just seems like an awful lot of s's for one word.

Here's the pictures of my possessed Dottie. She asked me to take the first one after her bath this morning. Note the scary smile. Clue one to human possession. She's had a permanent Koolaid mustache since Joe's been home. He's addicted to the stuff since he swore off soda for a year.

And this one seemed like a fitting possession picture as well. Crazed look, out of control limbs.

Dottie's Possessed?

Sorry it's been awhile. What can I say, I've been busy. Joe's Grandma Hansen passed away two Fridays ago, and last week, we went to the funeral in SLC. It was a sad occasion, but we know she is in a better place. We will really miss Grandma.

It was nice to see family that we haven't seen for sometime. Of course, I forgot my camera on the trip. So no pictures. Joe's had the week off for spring break, and we've just been busy. I just feel like my life is getting a little crazy lately, you know?

So I wanted to share with you the funny thing Dottie said on Monday night. We had Family Home Evening, which is just an opportunity to do something as a family and share a spiritual message to educate our children about God, the Bible, the Book of Mormon, etc. It's pretty basic when your kids are little. We show Dottie a picture of Jesus or one of the Bible or Book of Mormon stories, and then we talk about it. Lately, we've been talking about Satan vs. Jesus, or how Jesus wants us to be happy and to make good decisions, and how Satan wants us to be unhappy and make bad decisions.

Anyway, Dottie has become a little too keenly interested in Satan. I'm thinking maybe we should just cut out the talk about Satan and focus more on Jesus. On Monday, after Family Home Evening, Dottie would NOT go to bed. She got out like 20 times in an hour. One of the times that I was putting her back to bed, she said to me, "Mommy, Satan wants me to get out of bed."

I had to laugh. I'm sure all of you moms out there wonder if your child is possessed, as I do, and then she says something like that, and I'm like, "Is this proof?" Let's hope not.

Visitors

Sorry it's been awhile! Craziness lately. We had two exciting visits last week: Joe's parents, and my mom. It was Joe's mom's spring break, so they came down for Monday and Tuesday morning (of last week). I was sick, unfortunately, so I wasn't too exciting. But the kids were fun, so hopefully they had fun too?
Then, on Thursday, my mom flew out for two baby showers for Emily. We had a shower at my house on Friday, and then she had one in Denver on Saturday. It was good having my mom here. She got whatever bug I had though, and on Saturday, she was pretty much miserable. It was sad that she had come all that way and felt so crummy. So here are pictures:

Grandpa and Grandma Hansen.

Baby Shower Highlights:

Our "cousin" Maureen gave Dottie these fancy boas.
After the shower, Dottie was brushing her teeth with punch. I don't think her dentist would like this . . .

It was a successful shower. Emily is going to have a very well-equipped baby boy.
