This One's for Joe

I've been gone from my husband for ten days now. I promised him that before he left for grad. school, I would post pictures on the blog of the family. Well, he leaves for grad. school tonight, so here are the pictures of our Pennsylvania adventure thus far. The pictures are from my mom's camera, since I don't have the program for my camera on her computer. I'm not sure how to rotate the images on this computer, so sorry that one of them isn't going in the right direction.
As a side note, I dropped my cell phone in a creek on Monday, so if you've been trying to get a hold of me and haven't had success, this is why. Call my mom's phone, Em's phone, Joe's phone, Carrie's phone to get a hold of me. If you don't know these numbers, call Amanda and she'll tell you.

Here's the crooked on. I got my hair cut the other day, and Joe wanted to see the outcome. I'm much happier with this haircut than I was with the last one. It's back to short hair for me.
This was Emily getting her hair highlighted. It's always embarrassing to have pictures of yourself getting highlights, so of course I had to put it on my blog, for her benefit.
This has been Dottie's favorite thing at Grandma's house: the slide. She would spend every waking moment on it if she could. But, as is typical here, we've been gone mostly every day.
This is Elliot's favorite thing to do at Grandma's. My mom borrowed several baby things from a friend to keep the kids contained. This is one of those bouncing toys. And if I haven't mentioned it before, Elliot is a hard-core bouncer. He wants to bounce on your lap most of the day. This toy gives me a break from my bouncing boy.

And here's the graduate, Carrie. She graduated the day after we arrived, and this is Elliot "helping" her with her Honors ribbon. My little wild man.

We went to NYC last Friday (a week ago). We took Dottie to see The Little Mermaid the Musical. Here we are at the famous Serendipity's, eating ice cream. If you ever go to New York, you have to visit this place. Talk about enormous ice cream sundaes.

We went to a night show of The Little Mermaid since this was the only time my mom could get tickets. The show started at 8 pm. And Dottie was so good! She loved it. She kept on asking me wierd questions at the beginning ("Mommy, is this the Wiggles?" when the men are on the boat at the beginning, "Is this Halloween?" when Ursula came on the scene), but she really enjoyed it and behaved well the whole time.

My dad was kind enough to watch Elliot while we went to the musical. Not exactly his idea of fun, but I really appreciated it. It's not often that I get to go out anymore. Since it was nighttime, Elliot slept mostly for him. My sweet baby spent most of the day in the stroller and also behaved so well for being in a hot and busy city.

This is Dottie with my mom's best friend, Anne. Anne loves Dottie and Elliot. She has their picture in a frame along with her other kids.

We went to one of my favorite places, Ithaca, NY, the other day. This was Dottie at the kid's science museum there. She had a blast with all of the fun science things, such as this mirror that distorts your image.

This is all for now. Sorry again for the discombobulated post. I promise I'll be more regular. It's been so busy because Em is only here for a couple days more, so my mom is trying to get all of the fun activities in while she's still here.
