My husband gets out a lot more than I do. He gets to go out for lunch and dinner at fancy restaurants, along with trips to New York, D.C., New Orleans, and even Paris (TX. It's a joke. It's not exotic or cool at all).
But needless to say, I sometimes get jealous. Joe has these fun times, which he protests are not fun, but busy and stressful. And okay, I guess there's that element to it. But eating out is something I really love, and when I hear he went to a really good restaurant without me, I get a little sad.
But this doesn't have much to do with my post. On one of his lunch meetings, he went to a charming little cafe called The Mad Hatter. He discovered that the area surrounding this restaurant was equally if not more charming. It's in what's called The King William District. I'm not sure where the name comes from, but the houses in the district are fabulous.
We walked around these mansions on our latest Sunday Morning Wandering. And yes, Mom, some of these mansions even have tours!
If I could buy one of these mansions, I might even want to live in Texas permanently.

Love the mansions. I definitely want to see them when we come. I also love Dottie and Elliot's poses in front of them!!
There is a restaurant called the Guenther House in that area- you can eat giant biscuits and see some of the inside of one of those houses!
Let's go to Mad Hatters without the kids sometime. :0)
