Let's start first with this loving image of Emmy and Dottie. After a week of not seeing each other, they were both thrilled to be in each other's presence again. What would Dottie do without Aunt Mimi?
The real purpose of today's post is to show off our first official Christmas tree. Yes, we had one when Dottie was 6 months old and my parents came to see us in Provo, but it was a free tree from some friends, and it definitely was a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. This tree, however is a nice one. We wanted a real tree (well, I did anyway). And we heard you could get a permit from the Forestry Dept. to cut one down in Woodland Park for only $10. So, I looked into it, and found out that in order to get to these trees, you need a vehicle with 4 wheel drive, which we do not have. We were going to try to borrow Em and Craig's SUV, but it's new and they really weren't thrilled about roughing it through the wilderness. So, we went to Walmart to see if they had anything. Miraculously, in the garden center, they were selling Christmas tree. We got this nice Scotch Pine for only $16, a heck of a deal for a Christmas tree. So if you're in want of a tree, check out your local Walmart. Sure, it's not the nicest we could have gotten, but it fits in well with our little house. I'm just happy to have our first official tree. It makes our house a home.

Charlotte, what a beautiful tree! I have 3 little fake ones with lights that I LOVE, but Damon keeps pulling them over. You look beautiful too, have you started the countdown?

It is a beautiful tree!-Not at all what the tree was like in Provo.This year we(I)put up our fake Christmas tree.With all the ornaments and lights, it doesn't look too bad. It actually looks real from a distance. Dottie is so precious. She looks extremely tall and slender near the tree. I guess she's always been long and lengthy. I love you guys! 24 days until we meet again! YES!!!:>

i feel like i already commented on this post because i talked with you on the phone about it. silly me. i love the tree! isn't it so nice having a home for christmas?? this is our first time having a home/house/bona fida house dwelling for christmas, right?
