Did I mention . . . ?

Did I mention that my husband is getting a new job next fall? I know some of you know. For those of you who don't, my husband will be teaching at a middle school in the fall instead of the high school he's been teaching at for the past two years.

Now some people might think that going from a high school position to a middle school position might be a step down for a band teacher, but in this case, it definitely is not. Joe is leaving the high school position for a variety of reasons: they're splitting his position to part-time high school and part-time middle school, there are parents harassing him, and he is generally dissatisfied with the way things are being handled at his school.

The middle school position he'll be taking over has a great band; the school is particularly known for their great jazz band. There's a good parent organization working with the band, the school is located in a better part of town, and Joe has a similar teaching philosophy to the teacher he's inheriting the program from. Also, he'll be able to make more money being a middle school teacher because the school has a jazz band camp in the summer where he'll be able to make extra money. Teachers don't get paid extra at the high school level for band camp, so this is definitely a step up. We're excited for the new job.

Here's pictures of my kids this week. Elliot's new favorite rattle is this little elephant. He holds it all the time.

Okay, they're both looking at the TV in this picture.
