Isn't she a beaut? I guess this officially makes us the Mormon stereotypical family: drives a minivan, has oodles of children (well, we only have 2. But you know there's more on the way. Not now or in the near future; that is not a pregnancy announcement).
But maybe I am turning into my mom. I asked her once, "Mom, if you could have any dream car, what would it be?" And she replied, "A minivan. It has tons of space. That's the most important thing to me."
And at this point in life, I kind of feel the same way. We almost went with a Mazda 5, which is like a cross between an SUV and minivan. Lots of seating, but looks cooler than a minivan. However, there was hardly any trunk space. That's important when you're hauling around strollers, and you make frequent trips to UT.
So, we went with this 2007 Chrysler Town and Country. We got a killer deal. Now, my friends, is a great time to buy cars, since the car industry is pretty desperate.
Our transmission on our sad little Nissan Altima has been dying since Dottie was a newborn. We were pretty lucky it lasted us this long. We were planning on just getting the transmission fixed, but it busted on Friday, when it was able to only go 30 miles/hr. And no auto shops are open on Saturday. We needed a quick fix, so we got a new car. We were eventually going to get a new car, but we planned to do it at the end of the summer, when we will have some supplemental income. But now was fine, too. We will just pay off the rest of the car at the end of the summer, and then save up and get the transmission fixed on the Altima. Then we will have 2 cars! That will be a blessed day. This post is really turning out to be too long. Can you tell I'm excited?
I forgot to mention the best thing about this car. The stow and go. You can open up the floor of the car and put things (or the seats) underneath. No more feeling cramped on long car rides. Okay, that's all.

oh yay!
I'm excited for your recent deal on the mini-van. Congrats!
Fabulous! Now that we are down to one car we are pondering the mini van as well. I mean, it really is inevitable, for all of us. And SO much cooler than an SUV, if you as me. SUV's are for people who are trying too hard.
Ha ha, okay, I totally don't mean the SUV comment. If you own an SUV, I don't judge you in the slightest. I'm just being silly.
That's awesome. I've always sworn to myself that I would NEVER drive a minivan... but with gas prices and storage space... I think I will. Volkswagen has a cool commercial ab out it!
