Ratatouille Night

We got the movie, Ratatouille, for Christmas. The version we got had a supplemental DVD with Food Network cooking shows, and recipe cards were also included. Dottie has taken interest in the recipe cards for the past week or so, so we decided that we would have a Ratatouille Night sometime this week.
The plan was Dottie and I would make the food, and when Daddy came home, we'd eat the food and watch the movie. Dottie and I had a really good time making the food, and she was surprisingly helpful. We made Fruit and Mint Salad, Chicken Fingers, and of course, Grilled Ratatouille. All of it was a little more gourmet than your everyday fare, but I guess the recipes wouldn't be from the Food Network if they were everyday meals.
We got everything ready, sat down to eat, and as I got up to get the movie, Dottie said, "Mommy, I'm tired. I don't want to eat." She was acting really tired. So, we didn't watch the movie. I made her eat a few bites, then put her to bed.
Turns out my daughter is still sick. She woke up at 9, burning up with a fever. My question is, will the illness ever end? February is the sick month for our family, if you recall the RSV experience of last year. I've decided next year, I want to skip February and go straight to March. That way, we won't be sick for a month straight.
On a happier note, we have a lot of leftovers. And the food was really really delicious. Joe and I loved it, and we'll eat it again tonight. Maybe we'll even watch the movie.

Sounds like fun! And I agree. February is the sick month. We should just skip it and go straight on to March and Spring!

I like those recipes too. Ratatouille always sounded a little risky to me, but you made it pretty appetizing. I wish I had bought that groovy version of the movie with all the recipes.

I'm sorry Dottie is still sick. Jesse and I are still fighting off colds that never seem to die. One day I think I'm over it, the next day I have a sore throat again (like I do right now).
