Mischief

Sorry for the delay in posting. I am now at my parents' house. Joe is at another round of Air Force training for 6 weeks, so I thought to myself, "Why not come home again?" The kids and I are happy to be in familiar territory once more.

We arrived last Thursday night, and my mom has been crazy busy: students, recitals, the school musical, etc. I have also become more involved musically, because I like to help out.

Therefore, this slight change in busyness has loosened the inner Pucks of my children. Last night, my mom took her voice students to a nursing home to sing, and I helped sing on the group numbers. My kids were less than angelic. See the picture above? Dottie took it. I gave her the camera in desperation. I was making the "shushing" face a lot to her.

Then, last night, when we came home, I gave Dottie a lecture about why it's important to listen to mommy when she says "no" or "stop." She's had problems with staying in bed since we've been here, but she promised she would stay in bed.

Did she stay in bed? Of course not. I heard little scurrying feet as I settled down to an evening of "American Idol." I went upstairs to chasten her, and she informed me she had swallowed a dime.

A dime! My nearly five-year-old? Why would she do that? I had a little hysterical moment, but I called poison control and the pediatrician, and I was reassured that it would probably pass out the other end.

Nothing's happened yet. I think maybe I just need to take a break, be less selfish, and pay more attention to her. Because the mischievous behavior has to stop.

I agree that Dottie's photography skills are flourishing. She really captured your emotion in this photo. :) :)

Has the dime been passed yet? Maybe she'll make change, ha ha!

For those of you who care about the dime: I'm not sure what happened. I gave her enough milk of magnesia that she had diarrhea, and I'm assuming the dime came out with that. But she flushed before I could check. Okay, sorry for the gross details. I'm done.

Abbey never put stuff in her mouth when she was little, but started when she was 4. Why on earth? I don't know either.
Aren't you glad you're at your parents' and not here for that sort of craziness?!
